1986 - Texas Sesquicentennial Theme Meeting

PDF Print E-mail

In 1986, the Liberty Lions Club held a meeting with a Texas Sesquicentennial theme.  The meeting was held on October 27, 1986 and a costume contest was held.  Everyone appeared to have a good time.  There were many excellent costumes and the selection of the winners was very difficult.  The ladies that received the most votes were:

Del Rae LaFour - 1st
Dorothy Shoaf - 2nd
Bonnie Steed - 3rd
Lona Odum - 4th
Mary Thornton - 5th

Bonnie Steed and Lona Odum got the same number of votes.  Fortunately we had a "Saloon Gambler" (Lion Mark McClelland) with us who had a deck of cards with him.  Bonnie drew and Ace and Lona drew a King.  Remember not to play cards with those two ladies.

The gentlemen that received the most votes were:

Lion John Menville - 1st
Lion Bobby T. White - 2nd

Winners received prizes.
